Disposition: He's not in a hurry to get anywhere, unless something startles him. He's very playful

Likes: Playing with leaves, laying down to take a break during the day (and sometimes during a ride), and playing tag with his herdmates. He is always happy for attention and a good grooming session is welcome.

Dislikes: Hoses are very scary - you never know when they'll jump up and attack (despite evidence that they don't do this). He would prefer to be outside rather than be in his stall at night, and it's all right if the barn cats keep their distance.

History: Kim has known Festus since he was a baby as he was purchased by a family friend to be a companion for another Mammoth Donkey, Calamity Jane. As a two year old Festus came to Royal T where he will spend his life playing with his herdmates and throwing around toys in the field. Festus has been used for HART lessons on occasion but it's hard to get him motivated to do work. Fun fact: at six months old Festus was taught to lay down on command as a fun trick. Well, he uses that trick to his advantage when he decides that he's done working during class. He's such a sweet goofball.
