Bentley
Birthdate: January 1, 2007
Sex: Gelding
Breed: Haflinger
Height: 13.2 hands
Weight: 1200 lbs
Color: Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail
Markings: Stripe, star, snip
Disposition: In your pocket with a big build. He's quick under saddle with a very smooth trot that's great for beginner riders to learn on. After he's warmed up he settles in and walks nicely. He likes to poke people with his nose, and if you're not careful, he will leave the wash rack before there's a chance to get the cross ties attached.
Likes: Playing with the green exercise ball, being brushed behind the ears, and down his neck. He's a goofy boy who grunts to thank riders when they dismount.
Dislikes: Tight legs, baths, standing alone in the cross ties, being patient at the mounting block.
Weight limit: 200 lbs
History: Was purchased from a neighboring farm when he was six months old so he's grown up at Royal T Ranch. Haflingers are known to be started later than other breeds as they tend to mature more slowly, but Bentley has such a youthful exuberance to him that while he was started a couple times, it finally started to sink in as he approached eight years old. He still maintains some of that excitement and can test some of our volunteers but he has a wonderfully sweet nature and is a great partner in the HART program. Students enjoy working with him and he is proud to work with his riders.
